Clyne Golf Club, steeped in history, focussed firmly on the future”; a bold positive statement made on the club website which also helps explain the club’s decision to set about renovating their bunkers using EcoBunker. Clyne GC was designed by possibly the most famous golf course architect of them all, Harry S Colt, during the 1920’s, regarded many as the Golden Age of course design. Situated high up on a gorse clad common, with spectacular views over the Mumbles and Swansea Bay, Clyne is a very traditional golf club. However the club is not afraid to innovate and early in 2010 it became one of the first clubs to start building bunkers using our patented construction method. 5 years later, the build program is gaining momentum. After meeting Clyne GC officials at the 2014 Golf Union of Wales Sustainability Seminars (which EcoBunker Ltd co-sponsored and participated in), the decision was made to work together with EcoBunker Ltd for the next phase of bunker construction.

With support from our Llewellyn Matthews and Steve Summerton, Head Greenkeeper Tony Bull and his bunker team led by Craig have created some superb low maintenance, naturally shaped bunkers that we are sure Mr Colt would have approved of.
