The aim of this initiative is to gain valuable insights on the most common challenges faced by golf courses across the UK. This will help you to better understand your bunkers, whilst helping EcoBunker to develop the next line of market-leading bunker technologies.
Who can apply?
In short, anywhere where golf bunkers exist! The objective is to complete 35 bunker audits for our 2023 report, with more planned for 2024. We will present our preliminary findings at the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition, January 2024.
What if my course isn’t chosen?
If you are not one of the 35 courses chosen, for a limited time we will be offering our bunker audits at the reduced cost of £499.

With over 30 years’ experience as a qualified civil engineer, Richard is also studying for a Diploma in Golf Course Design via the officially recognised EIGCA course. He has been able to combine his lifelong passion for golf with his sector-leading engineering expertise.
Richard has designed an award-winning golf course engineering project, invented and innovated a range of patented and unique technical solutions and is the founder of EcoBunker Ltd.
As head of product development and EcoBunker’s founder, Richard loves speaking to anyone with a passion for the great game of golf and helping them to solve the specific challenges faced on their courses.
Llewellyn Matthews
Global Installation Specialist
Llewellyn Matthews is a highly accomplished golfer. He has competed in The Open Championship and The Walker Cup, winning the The St Andrews Links Trophy and the Welsh Amateur Championship on two occasions. Remarkably he achieved these honours whilst qualifying as a full time Greenkeeper and becoming the go-to specialist for bunker construction at his local golf club, before turning professional.
Llewellyn is undoubtedly one of the most sought after experts in the industry and has been at the cutting edge of bunker construction across the globe for over twelve years.
