Today we spotlight the collaboration between EcoBunker and Weston Super Mare Golf Club (WSMGC), showcasing a new vision of bunker excellence on this exceptional links course in Somerset, UK.
Innovation at the heart: Weston Super Mare Golf Club, known for its beautiful links course and exceptional golf holes, recently undertook a comprehensive evaluation of its course, including tree management, bunker maintenance, and cultural practices. Recognising the need for an innovative approach to maintain their pot bunkers, the club management, in conjunction with their agronomy team, enlisted EcoBunker to prepare a bunker renovation strategy.
The 7th hole, a 160-yard par 3 featuring four symmetrical pot bunkers, was selected for the first transformation. These bunkers had experienced significant face degradation, worn rear edges, and contamination, negatively impacting their aesthetics and playability.
Satisfied members and an even better experience: This project was more than just about construction; it was about crafting an unparalleled experience for members. The transformation garnered widespread acclaim, with management and members expressing utmost satisfaction with the new look and playability of the 7th hole. The success of this project has sparked keen interest in renovating all the bunkers on the course.
Conclusion: The transformation of WSMGC’s bunkers stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and expertise. As EcoBunker continues to redefine standards in golf course construction, we look forward to sharing more success stories that inspire and elevate the golfing experience.
“The team at EcoBunker has done an outstanding job, delivering an exceptional renovation that has significantly enhanced our course. The management and members are thrilled with the new look and playability of the bunkers, and we are excited to continue this transformation across the course.”
