Many heathland courses in the UK have revetted bunker edges. Lee on Solent was the very first genuine heathland course to convert to our synthetic turf system. After initial training from our Llewellyn Matthews, Head Greenkeeper, Jason Diment and his enthusiastic team has been steadily converting all their bunkers and they expect to complete the entire course in 2017.

EcoBunker has also provided assistance with drainage issues on some bunkers, and others where used astroturf was re-purposed as a bunker liner. This system was pioneered by our own Steve Summerton at Coed y Mwstwr GC, and lessons learned in handling this difficult, heavy material were passed on to Jason.

The finished bunkers are very much in keeping with the woodland/heathland setting, and the club is noticing a considerable reduction in maintenance and much more consistent playing conditions across the renovated bunkers.
